Playa del Sol Club members can now enjoy a beautiful new beachfront boutique-style resort just outside of San Jose del Cabo at the southern tip of Baja California. The new building has 78 timeshare “lock off” units, all with ocean views. The units can be used as studios or combined to form one and two bedroom condos.

The beach at the new resort is among the very best in an area known for the high quality its beachfront properties. There is a beautiful beachfront pool now being heated by a combination of solar energy and conventional gas boilers. All of the hot water for the suites is being supplied through a solar system.

The older condo units acquired in the “A-B” building are currently being upgraded and refurbished so that they are a more compatible “fit” for this luxury resort. Be sure to enjoy the resort’s excellent restaurant and bar, both with ocean views.

SPA BEING PLANNED

And don’t worry, the Mini-Mart just off the lobby has everything you forgot to bring on your trip to Mexico. A new fitness center and full service spa are being planned.

The New Spa and Wellness Center at Grand will be completed by about May 1st. of this year. Water will flow through the building, creating a sense of peace and healing at this luxury facility. If you have not used our spa services in the past, the new Center at Grand – and our great spa team – may change your mind about the spa experience.

The Playa del Sol Club has had available Club inventory throughout the high season (with the exception of Christmas and New Years – when everyone wants to travel). In 2007, we are pleased to report that over 85 percent of all Club Members used their Club weeks either by staying at one of the Club resorts or by exchanging their weeks for stays at other hotels.
Of course, there is always a percentage of Members who just can’t travel every year. But we want to help you select dates that will work for you, so check with the Call Center with as much lead time as possible (up to 12 months before your arrival date).

RESERVATION TIPS: GO FOR THE OFFSEASON!

Ask our Call Center representatives for advice on great off season dates – when Mexico’s resorts and towns are least crowded and most tranquil for a real “getaway” vacation. High seasons will always bring the crowds, so consider the low pressure al-ternative dates during the off season.
A lot of the “locals” in Mexico’s resort towns prefer the off season because the traf-fic is much reduced, and there’s no waiting for restaurant reservations – just walk in. The best destinations are all yours during off season.
And, at both our Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos destinations, there are plenty of activities and tours available throughout the year. See the websites on the next page under “What’s Going On….”

WHEN IS THE BEST OF LOW SEASON?

May and October give you the best of all worlds. The weather is excellent (maybe just a little warm). And, everybody in town is thrilled to see you! Also, at our resorts, our staff has more time to pamper you in off season – and you deserve it!
The summer months are also wonderful here, if you don’t mind afternoon highs in the low 90’s (hey, it’s a lot cooler than Texas and Arizona!). There is always a nice breeze off the bay.
From late June to September, we often have sunny days followed by spectacular rains in the late afternoons and evenings. The “locals” love the rains – they are one of Vallarta’s summer entertainments, and the result is the dense green vegetation, re-newed for another year. Don’t forget, this is the tropics!

WHERE IS NAYARIT?

As you head north toward Playa del Sol Grand from the Vallarta airport, you cross a bridge over the Ameca River which is the border between the States of Jalisco (Puerto Vallarta) and Nayarit to the north. From Playa del Sol Grand (which is actually in Nayarit), you can take great day trips to some of the towns along the Pacific Coast, such as Sayulita and San Francisco. They are less than an hour away, but they are in a very relaxed “zone”.

WHAT AND WHERE IS BUCERIAS?

It’s a charming Mexican town just a ten minute walk up the beach from Playa del Sol Grand. Or it’s an easy cab ride. Bucerias is well known for its good restaurants and shopping. Just ask at your hotel for recommendations.

Marcela Rosas
    Leads Member Services

We are happy to announce that Marcela Rosas has just been promoted to Member Services Director for all Playa del Sol Resorts. A native of the City of Monterrey in the State of Nuevo Leon, Marcela is a resort industry professional, with eight years of experience at a Monterrey hotel chain. Five years ago, she joined Playa del Sol where she has worked on the Member Services team and as a Rooms Division Manager.
At the beginning of 2008, Katy Ochoa, president of Playa del Sol, recognized Marcela’s talent and hard work and named her Director of Member Services.
“We are especially happy to see Marcela’s excellent professional growth,” Katy said. “We are excited about her promotion to lead one of the most important departments in our company. Marcela is a great example of advancement from within our company, achieved through her initiative and the quality of her work.” Congratulations Marcela!

Christine Jones
    Promoted to Call Center Manager!

After two years of hard work and professional growth at the Call Center, Christine Jones has been promoted to Call Center Manager for Playa del Sol Resorts.
Christine began as an “Exchange Agent,” specializing in arranging vacations for our Club Members at other resorts around the world. She was then promoted to “Exchange Specialist” for the new Call Center in Santa Rosa, CA, and then advanced to “Lead Agent” last September. In mid-December, she accepted the position of Call Center Manager.
Born and raised in Southern California, Christine attended Mira Costa College and has extensive experience in office management, having held executive positions with a large California distribution center and with an entertainment agency which represented internationally touring, corporate entertainment groups.
Christine brings her diverse background in customer/client service to the PDS team to insure continued member satisfaction. She is very pleased to be a part of the PDS team and is committed to her agents and to you as valued members.

MORE TECHNOLOGY, MORE TRAINING, BETTER SERVICE

We know that some of you have been frustrated with long waits to make reservations through our Call Center. But the good news is that wait times are being steadily reduced. In February, the average wait time was reduced to less than five minutes.
Service is is improving each day through the Center’s ongoing training program. And, new phone technology is also being installed to further improve and accelerate the reservation process.
