By road: - public transport facilities are available in form of trains and buses. Trains may be taken from Nogales to Tepic or Guadalajara. Tourist visits here they are sailing (by boat) or exploring the hinterland to enjoy the shops and restaurants in the vicinity. There are several dozen modest inns and three star hotels. Some of them are truly charming and enjoy constant rush of tourists throughout the year. Los Muertos beach is located here and attracts scores of people daily. The South Shore that appears after only a five minute drive from Viejo Vallarta is highly populated primarily by luxurious villas available for some are vacation rentals and a number of higher-end condominiums apartments. Nuevo Vallarta is an interesting, quiet resort development in Nayarit about thirty minutes from Puerto Vallarta. The Northern Hotels Zone is a ten minute drive from Viejo Vallarta and is comprised of some the five star hotels.
